The University of Notre Dame confirmed Wednesday that kickoff for Oklahoma’s game in South Bend, Ind., is set for 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 28. The game will be broadcast nationally by NBC (KTEN-10).
The Sooners and the Fighting Irish met in Norman on Oct. 27, 2012 before a crowd of 86,031 at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the highest attendance for a sporting event ever held in the state of Oklahoma. The most recent meeting between these two storied college football powers in South Bend, Ind., came on Oct. 2, 1999 when Notre Dame rallied for a 34-30 victory.
Oklahoma’s lone victory over Notre Dame was a 40-0 shutout on Oct. 27, 1956, as the Sooners registered their second consecutive national championship under head coach Bud Wilkinson.
