  • HEALDTON — Services for Mary Joyce (Parrish) Spradlin, 83, of Healdton are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Healdton, with Bro. Wearthy Shank officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton.
    Joyce was born May 24, 1929, in Chickasha, Okla., to Henry and Jewel Spivey Parrish. She passed from this life April 24, 2013, at her home in Healdton.
    Joyce was raised and attended school in Chickasha, graduating from Chickasha High School. She married Charles Lester Spradlin on January 2, 1947, in Chickasha, moving to Healdton in 1953. She was employed at Pratts Grocery Store for many years as a cashier. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church and was over the church nursery for a very long time. She enjoyed knitting, working crossword puzzle books and made the best candy around. She loved passing it out to everyone.
    She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
    Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Peggy Melton, Jimmie Murphy and Anna Sue Sosbee; and also three great-grandchildren.
    She is survived by her children, Judy Capehart, Ardmore, Jane Ann Reed and husband, Raymond, Marietta, Jana Ragan and husband, Ronald, Ardmore, John Spradlin and wife, Rita, Healdton and Joe Spradlin and wife, Georgie, Lone Grove; 21 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be grandsons.
