With a 4-0 victory over Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon, the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners claimed their sixth regular-season Big 12 softball title.

It was Oklahoma’s 10th overall Big 12 crown, which includes four postseason titles (1996, 2001, ‘07, ‘10), all of which have occurred under head coach Patty Gasso. She is the league’s winningest coach with 1,078 victories in her career, 917 recorded at OU. During her tenure at Oklahoma, Gasso has led the Sooners to 20 consecutive 40-win seasons and seven Women’s College World Series appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2012.

The 10 total crowns are the most in league history. With the title-clenching victory, OU moved to 46-4 on the year and 14-2 in conference play.

Oklahoma won the first game of the series 10-1 on Friday.
