  • Pauls Valley resident Wil Rohan has a unique combination of things he does. He's an engineer — employed by CVR Energy in Pauls Valley — and an artist.
While the two don't often coincide, Rohan makes it work, and does it in true engineer style.
Rohan has an art exhibit on display at The Goddard Center now called "Glow Show," a series of pieces he has created that are designed to be displayed under blacklights.
The show has been on display since Monday at the Art Studios facility, but will continue through July 6.
"The show is a science/art, glow in the dark series," Rohan said.
His unique exhibit includes works from thermodynamics and chemistry to Route 66, which he describes as "ongoing but considered complete."
Rohan began painting seriously in 2003, inspired by his mother who was a portrait artist, who taught him the skills he now uses. He began with topological abstract pieces, but portraits and illustrations came later and dominate his current works.
In his spare time from working as an engineer, he is an active member of the local arts council. He was named the 2012 Pauls Valley Person of the Y ear and is on the board of Pauls Valley Main Street.
He has more than 50 awards for his unique works.
"We are pleased to offer diverse genres of art and hope this exhibit will interest a wide range of people because of its distinctive nature," said Leila Lenore, Goddard Center Director.
The Goddard Center's Art Studios facility is open during classes or by appointment.
