A one-vehicle wreck left a Wapanucka man in serious condition Saturday night.
Corey Lee Hilburn was admitted in serious condition to OU Medical Center with head and trunk external injuries after he wrecked his 2004 Honda Civic. Hilburn, 21, was traveling southbound on a county road five miles south of Coleman when he departed the roadway to the left at 6:32 p.m. The Honda Civic struck a ditch and a fence and continued southbound rolling two and one half times before coming to rest on its top. Hilburn was ejected an undetermined distance.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety report indicated Hilburn said he attempted to take his own life and was traveling 112 miles per hour before leaving the roadway.
Hilburn’s condition was listed as normal and the cause was listed as intentional. The seatbelt was not in use but the airbags was equipped and deployed.
