The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office has released the names, ages and causes of death on 16 of the 24 victims who died in the Moore tornado.

The list contains the names of 10 children, seven who were killed in the Plaza Towers Elementary School. It should be noted in cases listing mechanical asphyxiation as the case of death, the term refers to suffocation not drowning as has been erroneously reported earlier by some news sources.

The names include:

1. Terri Long, 49, female — died from multiple blunt force injures

2. Megan Futrell, 29, female — died from blunt force trauma of head and torso

3. Case Futrell, 4 months, female — died from blunt force head trauma

4. Shannon Quick, 40 female — died from multiple injuries

5. Sydnee Vargyas, 7 months, female —died from blunt force head trauma

6. Karrina Vargyas, 4, female — died from multiple blunt force injuries

7. Jenny Neely, 38, female — died from blunt force trauma of chest

8. Antonia Canderaria. 9, female — died from mechanical asphyxia

9. Kyle Davis, 8, male — died from blunt force trauma

10. Janae Hornsby, 9, female — died from mechanical asphyxia

11. Sydney Angle, 9, female — died from mechanical asphyxia

12. Emily Conatzer, 9, female — died from mechanical asphyxia

13. Nicolas McCabe, 9, male — died from mechanical asphyxia

14. Christopher Legg, 9, male — died from mechanical asphyxia

15. Cindy Plumley, age unknown, female — died from blunt force trauma

16. Deanna Ward, age unknown, female — died from blunt force trauma of torso

The release of the names of the other eight victims remains pending notification of family members.
