Sue Davis, age 60, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Ardmore, Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest, services will conclude in The Chapel. Private interment to follow.
Sue was born on Dec. 1, 1952, at Ft. Sill, Lawton, Okla. She was reared in Ardmore, where she met and, at a young age, married Edwin Davis. After that marriage ended, she moved to Los Alamos, Calif. Following her return to Ardmore, Sue worked at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and at Christy’s Dog House. She worked in housekeeping at Holiday Inn before she took an early retirement in order to care for her grandson. She was always involved in charities that helped raise money for children’s causes and was the main reason she became a member of the American Iron Riders.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arlyn Dewbre; daughter Tracey Davis; son Edwin Davis Jr.; and biological parents, Harvey Stout and Oleta Lauricella.
Sue is survived by her mother, Faye (Rhodes) Dewbre of Lone Grove, Okla.; son Johnny Davis; daughter Stacey Davis; and grandchildren Jordan Davis and Xander Davis, all of Ardmore; sisters Liesa Bullard of Lone Grove, Connie Higgens of Bakersfield, Calif., and Nonna Stout of Carson City, Nev.; and brothers Bill Barnes of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lonnie Stout of Elmore City, Okla.
