Ardmore police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found early Wednesday at a utility construction site in a northwest neighborhood.

Deputy Chief Eric Hamblin said the body was discovered about 7:45 a.m. in a hole dug for utility line installation near the intersection of 11th Avenue NW and Burch Street. Hamblin said the body was that of an unidentified adult male.

“The body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for cause of death, and hopefully information that will help us identify him,” Hamblin said.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Hamblin said the investigation was continuing, but so far the man had not been identified. Even the victim’s age remained a uncertain.

“We don’t have an age estimate,” hesaid. “What I can say he is was wearing black wind pants and an orange Texas (University of Texas) shirt.

The deputy chief said it was "to early" in the investigation to know whether foul play was involved or if the case would be labeled a homicide.
