Services for Michael Lee Briscoe, 63, will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Harvey-Doug­las Centennial Chapel with Reverend David Gardner officiating. Burial with military honors will fol­low at Cheek Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for the family will be held this evening from 7 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The son of the late Jesse Ernest Briscoe and Edna Pearl Halstead Briscoe, Mike was born July 31, 1949 in Oklahoma City and passed away at his residence in Greenville, June 6, 2013.

A graduate of Lone Grove High School, Mike joined the Navy in Novem­ber 1967. He served almost six years, during which he saw overseas time in Viet­nam. He was honorably discharged in December 1971. He received the Na­tional Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Ser­vice Medal.

After returning home, Mike began his oilfield ca­reer, which spanned 42 years. At the time of his death, Mike was working with Nomac Drilling, as a tool pusher. He and the former Jonell Davis were married in 1993 in Gaines­ville, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years Jonell of the home, a son Michael Briscoe, daughters, Christy Briscoe and Tammy Grif­fin, his mother Edna Bris­coe; stepchildren, David and JoAnn Potter, his brother Larry Briscoe, 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His father and his sister Cathy Potts preceded him in death.
