  • WILSON — Memorial services for Jay Virgil Sargent, 53, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Thomas (Bus) Russell officiating and David Russell assisting. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Homes and Crematory.
    Jay was born September 12, 1959, at Ringling, Okla., to Jay Elvin Sargent and Jackie Sargent Croskell. He passed from this life June 15, 2013, at Ardmore, Okla., at the age of 53.
    Jay was raised at Healdton and Ardmore. He soon began working in the oilfield and worked for several oilfield companies on drilling rigs. Jay married the former Karen Finley August 8, 1988, at Ardmore, Okla. He was a cowboy at heart that enjoyed rodeos, breaking horses, hunting, fishing, dancing and all the little animals of God. Jay attended church at Faith Heritage Church of Lone Grove. He was a very caring husband, father, son and was a blessing to his family.
    Preceding him in death were his father and best friend, (Abe) Jay Elvin Sargent in 2000; brother, Jay Don Sargent; and sister, Stephanie Carlene Sargent.
    Survivors include wife, Karen Sargent of the home in Ardmore, Okla.; daughters, Jayce Sargent of Ardmore, Okla., and Jessica Sargent of Ardmore, Okla.; mother, Jackie Croskell and loving dad, Joe of Ardmore, Okla.; sisters, Barbara Diann Sargent of Fort Worth, Texas, Patricia Sue Jennings and husband, Joe of Ratliff City, Okla., and Pamela Beth Bryant of Lone Grove, Okla.; brother, Gene Croskell of Ardmore, Okla.; one expected grandson; parents-in-law, Edward and Dorthy Finley of Lone Grove; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
