Area children will be able to learn about the fine arts Saturday at the Second Annual Kids Arts Day.
The event will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Central Park.
"We want to raise awareness for the arts," said Traci Martin, co-leader of the event.
Spaghetti Eddie, a children's rock band, will perform.
Children will have seven different hands-on art projects they can do at booths by HFV Wilson Community Center, the Chickasaw Nation and Christ Community Church.
"Projects are simple and quick. Younger kids and older kids can get something out of that," Martin said.
Projects will include a community mural that each child can contribute to.
Professional artists will also do demonstrations of their art forms, including painting by Caterina Provost-Smith, pottery by Steven Phillips and painting by John White.
Systems of Care will have a tent on art therapy.
Last year's event include about 350 children, which organizers hope to top this year.
"We expect it to grow as word gets out about it," Martin said.
The event will also feature free hot dogs and snow cones and drawings for prizes.
