Funeral services for Loyd Franklin Bowers, 85, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Reverend Donny Custar officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

The son of the late Everett and Amanda Dew Bowers, Loyd was born November 30, 1927, in Ada, Oklahoma, and passed away Tuesday morning in a local hospital.

Loyd served during World War II as a Marine and was honorably discharged. After his service to our country, he married the former Wanda Lee Norton April 12, 1952, in Ada. They moved to Ardmore in 1965 where Loyd was co-manager at Humpty Dumpty Grocery Store.

Wanda preceded him in death January 25, 2001. His brother, Don and sister, Kathryn also preceded him in death.

Loyd was a delivery driver for Kerr Reavis Drug after his retirement. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Muncrief and her husband, Eddie; a sister, Neva Stewart and husband, Bobby; granddaughter, Kim Foster and husband, Scott; grandson, Kevin Muncrief and wife, Nicole; six great-grandchildren, Garrett, Parker and Morgan Foster, Kylie Hockersmith, Kason White and Dax Muncrief; and six nephews.
