The Ardmore Beautification Council is promoting the American flag be flown throughout the summer months. Decorative red, white and blue rockets have been placed in prominent locations throughout the city where ABC oversees the landscape maintenance.

ABC is suggesting all local businesses, citizens, churches, etc. throughout Ardmore fly the flag. “It will be such a beautiful and patriotic sight to see the town dressed up in red, white, and blue,” said Regina Turrentine. “Our national flag demonstrates patriotism and there is not a more beautiful representation of that than the American flag.”

According to ABC executive director, Norma Lynne Paschall, “We enjoy providing seasonal decorations for the community and hope everyone enjoys and appreciates them. The decorative rockets will be left in place throughout the summer.”

Commercial-sized hoist flags can be bought locally at Ray’s Office Supply in downtown Ardmore. Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, and several other businesses carry a variety of sizes of American flags.

Those with questions on flag rules and regulations can go to http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html on the Internet for more information.
