Anna Ruth Hulme Shedd died on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the age of 94.

Anna Ruth was born on March 21, 1919, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry Seaman and Anna Kerner Seaman. She attended Lindenwood University and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1940, where she was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

Anna Ruth devoted her adult life to her two husbands, Woodrow and Charlie, and to raising her three children, Barbara, Wilson and Ron. She was also active in a number of professional, civic and church causes. She served as President of the American Association of University Women, President of the Presbyterian Women's Organization and was a Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore. She also managed her own cosmetic business in Ardmore for over 20 years.

Anna Ruth married Woodrow Hulme in 1943, and they were married for almost 54 years until Woodrow's death in 1997. Anna Ruth and Woodrow lived briefly in New York City and Dallas before returning to Ardmore in 1946. Woodrow founded and led Hulme & Company, a CPA firm, from 1946 to 1989. He was also Chairman of the Oklahoma State Board of Public Accounting and served as Mayor of Ardmore from 1963 to 1967.

In 1999, at the age of 80, Anna Ruth married 83 year old Charlie Shedd and they lived together in Ardmore until Charlie's death in 2004. Charlie was a Presbyterian minister who founded and led several churches including Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston. He was also an established author who published over 40 books including the classics Letter to Karen and Letters to Philip.

Anna Ruth loved life and people. She was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends, including those at the Lodge in Ardmore Village where she lived for the past nine years. She was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners football team, and she rarely missed watching a PGA golf tournament or the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Anna Ruth was predeceased by her son, Wilson Hulme.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Everheart and her husband, Bill of Dallas, Texas; her son, Ron Hulme and his wife, Sheila of Houston, Texas; and her daughter-in-law, Sue Hulme of Morristown, N.J. She has five grandchildren, Tracy Everheart and his wife, Julia of Atlanta, Ga., Terry Everheart and his wife, Hope of Dallas, Texas, Michelle Hulme-Lippert and her husband, Bobby of Richmond, Va., Jennifer Hulme of Los Angeles, Calif., and Melissa Hulme of San Francisco, Calif. Anna Ruth has four great-grandchildren, Payton Everheart and Hailey Everheart of Dallas, Texas, and Elle Everheart and Hunter Everheart of Atlanta, Ga.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 24th at Craddock Funeral Home in Ardmore. The services will be led by Dr. Virgil Trout and Bobby Hulme-Lippert. Online condolences may be made at
