COVINGTON — Memorial service for Maidee Spencer LeForce, 93, of Covington will be 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, at the First Christian Church in Covington with Pastor Connie Schlarb officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Maidee was born January 13, 1920, to Eugene and Maude Spencer in Love County near Marietta, Oklahoma. Our precious mother and “Honey” to her grandchildren passed away June 19, 2013, in Enid.
She graduated from Marietta High School then attended Oklahoma State University (formerly Oklahoma A&M) where she met and married Leroy LeForce. She received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chickasha.
Maidee worked for the Soil Conservation Service and postmaster in Chickasha. She taught school in Lawton and Salem, Oregon.
She was a member of the First Christian Churches of Chickasha, Marietta, where she served as an elder, and Covington.
Maidee loved to garden, fish, and most especially go cowboy dancing with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; parents; brothers, Charles and Leroy Spencer; sister, Maggie Bassel; and two grandsons, Cory LeForce and Jeremy Johnson.
She is survived by daughter, Gennie Johnson and husband, Bob; son, Spencer LeForce and wife, Sharmin; granddaughters, Brook Johnson, Stacy VanSyoc, Melissa Tuck and husband, Tony, Rachel Burns and husband, Paul; grandsons, Brent Johnson and wife, Tyfanna, and Wesley LeForce; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Covington or Tri-County Senior Center in Covington with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of funds.
