  • Charles Lee "Buffalo" Perry, Jr., age 58, of Ardmore, Okla., passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Jerry Bateman officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.
    Charles was born on February 8, 1955, at Santa Ana, California, to Charles Lee Perry, Sr., and Joan (Hunt) Perry. Charles joined the US Marine Corps following high school. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Holdenville, Okla., and worked in the oil fields. He moved to Ardmore, Okla., and married Sherrill Greenslade in 1987. Charles worked as a long haul truck driver for most of his life. He was a retired member of The Forsaken Few. When active in the club, 1982 until 2007, Charles assisted with the club's many charitable events. He enjoyed raising funds for the annual toy run and was a big supporter of the children's shelter. He was a loving father, son, and grandfather, and doted on his grandchildren.
    Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Hunt; and brother, John Perry.
    He is survived by his wife, Sherrill, of the home; three sons, Matthew Perry, Jake Petree, and Jed Petree and wife, Ricci; grandchildren, Caleb Petree, Quincy Petree, Jed Petree, Jr., Bralynn Perry, and Landon Perry; father, Charles Perry, Sr. and wife, Janet.
    Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Pfarr, Jim Nieger, Phillip Whitaker, and Charles' sons; Matthew Perry, Jake Petree, and Jed Petree.
    The family will receive visitors on Sunday evening, June 30, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
