The University of Central Oklahoma will host several LibertyFest 2013 activities, including the celebration’s grand finale fireworks show at 10 p.m. July 4.

LibertyFest is Edmond’s weeklong celebration of our nation’s heritage leading up to Independence Day. CNN and USA Today call LibertyFest one of top 10 places to be on July 4 in the U.S.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the fireworks finale. The show will be synchronized to music on KCSC-FM 90.1.

Also on campus, Park Fest begins at 6:30 p.m. July 4. Leading up to the fireworks show, children can enjoy activities like a giant slide, an obstacle course, a belly bounce and a swing ride. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and attendees can enjoy free, ice-cold watermelon while supplies last.

The concert, fireworks show and Park Fest are free and open to the public. Central’s campus is both tobacco- and alcohol-free.
