Funeral services for Lacy (Buddy) Roberts are 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 16 E Street NE, with Pastor Willie J. Tiller officiating, and Rev. Fred Johnson delivering the eulogy. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Gene Autry.
Lacy Roberts was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Springer, to Lillie Bell Taylor Roberts and Samuel Roberts. At the age of 87 years, he departed this life Sunday, June 30, 2013, while a resident at Woodview Home.
A longtime resident of Springer, Buddy moved to Ardmore 15 years ago. After 20 years of employment with Colvert's Dairy, he retired. Additionally, following another 20 years in maintenance with Carter County's Road Construction, Buddy acquired a second retirement. He loved to hunt and fish. He and the former Francis Cohee were married for 66 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Gary, sister Maxine, brother D.L. Roberts and nephew James Gibson.
He is survived by his wife, Francis; daughters Pat Cohee and Juanita Roberts, both of Ardmore; sons Emmitt Cohee, Larry Cohee, Joe (Tracy) Cohee, Clarence Roberts, Chester (Vivian) Roberts and Greg Roberts, all of Ardmore; sister Willie D. Roberts; brother L.K. Roberts, Kansas City, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 Thursday evening at Kirk Chapel.
