Cheryl Ann Corbett, 55, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2013, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cheryl was born on June 29, 1958, in San Manuel, Arizona, to Ralph Edward and Mary Ann (Young) Corbett.
Cheryl moved with her family to Ardmore during her 7th grade year and began attending Plainview Schools, later attending and graduating from Ardmore High School in 1976. She went to East Central University and Murray State where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1984.
Cheryl devoted her life to the care of others. Cheryl worked at Mercy Hospital for 20 years and then for Lake Country Nursing Home until the time of her death. She will be remembered for her love of cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cheryl is survived by her three brothers, David Neil Corbett of Los Angeles, California, Bruce Allen Corbett of Springer, Okla., and Glenn Edward Corbett of Ardmore; three nieces, Monica Corbett of Los Angeles, California, Hayli Sherman of Davis, Okla. and Bridgit Olive of Davis, Okla.; two great-nieces; Trinyti Sherman and Payton Olive; and great-nephew, Colt Olive. She is also survived by her baby dog, Anne Carol, and her special friend, Mary Green, and partner in crime, Ferlyn Loughridge.
Serving as pallbearers will be Les Mathes, Weldon O'Deal, Bert Tickle, Kevin French, Harold Chanllor and Josh Sherman. Honorary bearers will be Dr. John O'Connor, Martin Bein and Dr. Tom McCulloh.
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 9, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.
