The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce lists Business After Hours among one of its most successful functions, and with good reason. The monthly event averages 60 to 100 people at rotating sites throughout the city. MTC Federal Credit Union will host the event today from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
"People go to Business After Hours to develop business relationships and to meet new contacts," says Jennifer Crosby, communications and events coordinator. "It is a unique opportunity for our business community members to socialize in a relaxed environment."
Crosby said Business After Hours is a sought-after event to host, as the schedule is filled through March 2014. Food and beverages are provided as well as door prizes.
This year, Business Before Hours has been added to the list of chamber events. Held quarterly, it has averaged 40 attendees. This month, Business Before Hours will be 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. July 23 at the Samuel Noble Roberts Foundation.
"The main goal for Business Before Hours was to reach out to members and interested parties and highlight local businesses," Crosby says.
The chamber has been encouraged by the response it has received from the Business Before Hours, and has added one for the first quarter in 2014. Following the July event at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Michelin-North America Ardmore Plant will host the function on Oct. 22. The first 2014 Business Before Hours will be at the Oklahoma State University for Agriculture Biosciences.
"We wanted to do it quarterly to see what the feedback would be like," Crosby said. "We are encouraged by the response and the opportunities moving forward."
