Authorities are investigating a break-in at a local business that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Police Chief Robert Oldham said a white male gained entry into Sonic Drive-In, located on U.S. Highway 77, at 2:20 a.m. The suspect was caught on video and was described as a small, white male with short hair.

"We had a subject break the drive-through window and enter the building," Oldham said. "He destroyed several items, trying to find money until he found a cash box."

Oldham said $200 was reported missing and estimated there was $1,000 in damage. In addition to video, the department has DNA evidence because the suspect apparently cut himself when he entered the building. Sonic was able to reopen for business Wednesday.

"We don't know who it is, but we are developing leads," Oldham said.
