Oklahoma's Aaryn Ellenberg scored a game-high 19 points to lead Team USA (3-0) to a 105-75 victory over Brazil (1-2) Wednesday to sweep through preliminary round play at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia.
The Sooner sharpshooter hit seven of 13 attempts, including a 5-of-9 mark on 3-pointers, in just 19 minutes on the court.
"We had a great start and a big first quarter," Team USA head coach Sherri Coale said. "Every time that we shared the ball, went inside-outside or changed sides of the floor, we got great shots and made most of them."
Ellenberg's total all came in the first half as the Americans routed their third straight opponent and move on to Friday's quarterfinal rounds, where they will meet the loser of a matchup between Russia and Sweden.
Ellenberg scored 14 points in the first quarter, nearly matching Brazil's total, as Team USA raced to a 36-16 lead.
