  • A baseball card was reportedly the reason a 43-year-old man attacked a pregnant woman who was attempting to break up a fight between two juveniles Wednesday afternoon.
Sgt. Calude Henry, Ardmore Police Department Patrol Division, said Joey Price was arrested without incident in the 400 block of Wolverton Street. He was booked into the county jail on a pending charge of assault.
Henry said reports indicate the youths were apparently fighting over a baseball card. The victim tried to stop the fight about 2:51 p.m., when Price came out of his house and hit her in the back of the head. The victim, who fell to the ground, was not seriously injured as a result of the attack.
Price apparently told officers the motivation for his actions was his own interest in the baseball card.
A misdemeanor charge was filed against Price in Carter County District Court Thursday.
The Carter County Detention Center confirmed Price was released from jail after posting a $600 bond.
