Each Wednesday and Saturday during the growing season, Ardmoreites come to the downtown Market Place on Broadway, 106 E. Broadway St., to buy fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers. It has become a popular gathering spot where people visit while listening to local entertainment and making their purchases. Sometimes cooking presentations are given that demonstrate a new way to prepare a particular food.
Judi Elmore, Antiques Etc., provided the kinetic sculpture by Andrew Carson that is in front of the Market Place on Broadway, and she is responsible for the xeriscape plantings at the entrance of the building managed by the Ardmore Main Street Authority.
"These additions welcome everyone to the site. We want to acknowledge Judi's generosity in making this another beautiful location in Ardmore," said Dixie Harper, ABC Trustee, "and commend her for putting the finishing touch on this community gathering place. This is a great example of what small business and non-profits working together can do in community development."
