  • Rose State College’s Dental Assisting Program has begun accepting students for its 10-month-long program, which is set to begin mid-August, said the program’s director.

The full-time program prepares students for state board certification as well as national certification, said Janet Turley, director of the program. Applications for the program need to be turned in by August.

Graduates of the program have excellent job prospects, Turley said, including flexible locations/hours.

“Job availability is excellent. We cannot even begin to put a dent in the demand in the dental community for these graduates. They will each probably have their choice of several offices in which to work,” Turley said.

Rose State College, which has the only college-based Dental Assistant program in the state, accepts 12 students each fall by special application.

Interested individuals can call 405-733-7337 to request an application or for additional information, or visit http://www.rose.edu/career-information.
