Memorial services for William Roy (Bill) Mauldin will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, in Northwest Baptist Church, Ardmore, Okla. The service is under the direction of Dr. Leonard Ezell.
Born November 19, 1952, at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Okla., the son of William and Peggy Mauldin, Mr. Mauldin passed away June 22, 2013, at the age of 60 in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica.
A 1971 graduate of Ardmore High School, he then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, Okla. Bill enjoyed working in the industrial bearing field for 30 years as an employee of Allied Bearings and Motions Industries. He was a member of the VNEA Billiards league for 15 years and also enjoyed photography for which he won numerous awards.
He married the former Melba Sparkman on June 6, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple retired and moved to Costa Rica in June 2006, living happily in Puerto Viejo, a small town on the Caribbean Coast.
He is survived by his wife, Melba of the home; parents, William and Peggy Mauldin of Ardmore; three daughters, Aja Mauldin and children, Ashlyn and Ryland Pierce of Ardmore, Gayla Bink and children, Alexandria and Bradley Bink of Kansas, and Shelley Young and husband, Jeff and children, Emily and Allison Young of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister, Kathy Mauldin of Ardmore; brother, Dewayne Mauldin and wife, Patty, also of Ardmore; niece, Kari Holder and husband, Josh and children, Lydia and Charlotte Holder of Ardmore; and two nephews, Jeremy Elrod of Ada, Okla., and Jeff Mauldin of Ardmore.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Lyn Gatewood.
Honorary bearers will be Dewayne Mauldin, Jeff Mauldin, Jeremy Elrod, Paul Tradii, Kenny Sullivan, Terry Gable and Steve Heron.
