Funeral services for Goldie L. Broadbent, 72, of Healdton are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson, with Jimmy May officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Goldie was born July 25, 1941, at Wilson, to Clifford Henry "Boe" McMillen and Hazel Elizabeth (Glenn) McMillen. She passed from this life July 28, 2013, at Healdton.
Goldie was raised in Wilson attending school there. She married Wayne Broadbent on Dec. 26, 1970, in Sayre, Okla. They resided in Amarillo, Texas, for many years where she helped Wayne at his automotive machine shop. They retired in 2000 and moved to Healdton to enjoy their retirement. Goldie was a very caring woman and devoted homemaker. She touched many lives with her kindness. Goldie loved her family deeply and gathered them to her as often as she could. She was a fun person to spend time with and she had a great sense of humor. Goldie kept a perfect home which she had decorated beautifully. She took much pride and joy in her home and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Paula Howell, son Robert Blackman, and granddaughter Amy Lynn.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Broadbent of the home; son Darryl Blackman of Healdton; daughters Tina Cartwright and husband, David of Wilson and Gaye Wilson and husband, Randy of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren Christy, Tracy, Matt, Ashley and Alex; great-grandchildren Evan, Ellie and Ashlyn; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Matt LaGrone, Alex Wilson, Steve Delano, Justin Walck, Bobby Williams, David Cartwright and Virgil Warrington.
