Services and visitation for Dean E. Bobbitt, 73, of Burneyville will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at service time. Presiding will be Monte Dinwiddie. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Eakins Cemetery, Ponder, Texas, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Dean was born July 17, 1940, in Fairland, Okla., the son of Ralph and Bessie Bobbitt. He passed away Sunday evening, July 28.

Dean met his wife, Arletta Kennedy, while they were attending Ozark Bible College, Joplin, Mo. While working toward a degree with Spartan School of Aviation, he was employed at the Swinney Hardware in Tulsa. After graduation, he and his wife, Arletta, moved to Houston after being employed by Trans Texas Airlines. Later he and his family moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to work at Love Field for Texas International Airlines. When the DFW Airport was built, Dean moved there with Texas International. In the early '80s, he was known for his master skills of fiberglass production through the rest of his life, beginning in Ponder, Texas to Pilot Point, Texas and, at last, Burneyville.

Survivors include his wife, Arletta of the home; son Kevin; daughter Kimberly; brother Marvin; sister Doris and her husband, Charles Barrick; grandsons Lucas and Gabriel; granddaughter Addison; nephews Daman and Tim Barrick; niece Laura Doner; five great-nephews; and two great-nieces.
