Memorial services for Shelby James Blessin, 25, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Elmore City Baptist Church, with Joe Rushing officiating and the Rev. Smokey Hurst assisting. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory of Ratliff City.
Shelby was born Nov. 26, 1987, in Ada, to Christopher Mark Blessin and Lena Marsha (Russell) Blessin. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
Shelby was raised in Pauls Valley and graduated from Bowie High School in Austin, Texas, in 2006. He moved to the Ratliff City area in 2009 and soon met Dominique Dye. They were married March 20, 2010. Shelby operated heavy equipment for Jimmy Rex Chatham at Chatham Dozer Service of Healdton for the last two years. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler, shooting guns, listening to good music and spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Edward Arthur Blessin and Voy Michael Russell; and great-grandmothers, Reja Perry and Sylvia McGow.
Survivors include his wife, Ashley Dominique Blessin of the home; son Roman Slade Blessin of the home; mother Lena Russell and Steve Williams of Hennepin, Okla.; father Christopher Blessin of Austin, Texas; brothers Jeremy Paul Blessin and fiancée, Courtney Farrell Roe of Austin, Texas, Kelly Don Hallmark and wife, Ashley of Pauls Valley, and Kolby Wayne Hallmark and wife, Beckah of Owasso; sister Morgan Williams of Cypress, Texas; grandparents Jennifer McCormick of Austin, Texas and Bill and Paula Leverett of Greenville, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.
If bringing arrangements prior to the service, Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday to receive them. The wife and mother welcome everyone to visit them at their homes on that day.
