Chickasha swept two games from Ardmore in a doubleheader on Thursday as the Fighting Chicks won 12-0 and 14-2 at Valero Park.
The first game ended quickly, with Chickasha hitting double digits in just three innings. The Fighting Chicks (10-0), state runners-up in Class 5A in 2012, scored seven runs in the first inning. Starting pitcher Kelsi Gore faced one batter over the minimum, striking out four in three innings.
Kaitlyn Cronemeyer hit a solo home run for Ardmore (1-7) in Game 2. The Tigers scored their other run on a sacrifice fly by Katelyn Hartman to score Kenisha Noland.
“I told the girls before the game that I just wanted them to make routine plays,” Ardmore coach Charli Crawford said. “Sometimes we made really good plays. Asjia (Anderson) did a good job on (the double play).
“Overall Chickasha’s a good team. We’ve got to make routine plays against teams like that or it will get out of hand real quick.”
