  • Prep Softball Roundup: Davis douses Dickson with big inning

  • DICKSON — Class 3A No. 5 Davis struck for seven runs in the fourth inning of a 10-2 win over Dickson on Monday.
    Leading 3-1, Jolie Romine started Davis off with an RBI single, then the Wolves followed by scoring four consecutive runs without a hit. Taylor Martin added an RBI single and Megan Williams had an RBI groundout to make it 10-1.
    Casady Webb was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Romine had two hits and two stolen bases for Davis (10-2). Macie Buckaloo gave up just one hit and struck out four over 3 1/3 innings.
    Madison Rozzell and Nikki Faulkner each had a hit for Dickson (3-9).

    MADILL — Plainview won a hitfest against Madill on Monday, as the Indians scored 11 of their runs over the final four innings.
    Myka Smith and Cassidy Ray each had two doubles and three RBIs for Plainview, which outscored Madill 7-2 in the final two innings. Emily Morgan added three hits and McKenzie Williams drove in two runs for the Indians.
    Haley Furr was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Madill.

    COMANCHE — Landry Willis pitched five innings of shutout ball and Marietta stole nine bases as a team to rout Comanche.
    Willis struck out eight and walked two for the win. Logan Willis (3-for-4, three steals) and Kilee Spanglo each had RBI triples in the second inning, with Spanglo's driving in two runs for the 5-0 lead.
    Shelby Langston had three steals and scored twice for Marietta (5-8).

    TISHOMINGO — Kingston powered its way past Tishomingo with 10 hits and an explosive start on Monday.
    The Redskins scored six of their seven runs in the first two innings. Shannon Lane led the way, going 3-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Raegan Wigley added two doubles for Kingston.
    Destiny Justus was 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a double for Tishomingo (5-6).

    Mikaela Blakemore hit an inside-the-park home run in the first inning for the Bulldogs, who scored six runs in the first and second combined.
    Jenna Martin had a team-best five RBIs. The senior also struck out six and walked one in six innings for the win in the circle.
    Caycee Griffin was 3-for-4, and Blakemore and Martin each had two hits for Healdton.
