The Carter County Sheriffs Department Narcotic Division along with the Ardmore Police Department Narcotics Division completed an investigation with the arrest of Alberto Saldana Martinez, 46, a resident of Lone Grove and an illegal alien. The arrest took place at a business in the northwest part of the city Wednesday.

“We and Ardmore narcotics have been receiving information over the last six months and began a joint investigation,” Capt. Gregg Johnson, sheriff’s department, said.

Martinez was charged with distribution of a controlled substance Thursday, which is punishable by imprisonment for two years and a $50,000 fine.

Martinez was arrested without incident at the business. His bond was set at $30,000 and he remains in the Carter County Detention Center. Johnson said the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have placed a hold on Martinez, who is expected to be deported back to Mexico.
