Jennifer Allen-Johns, 39, of Hinesville, Ga., passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
Jennifer was raised in Shawnee and graduated from Liberty Academy in 1993. After high school, she attended St. Gregory’s University and pursued her love of acting and theology. She later went on to graduate from Cameron University in 2006, majoring in psychology.
She married SFC Ronald Johns in July of 2009. After their wedding they settled down in Hinesville, where she worked as a Sign Language Interpreter.
Jenny enjoyed spending her time volunteering with children with disabilities, painting, crocheting and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Allen and grandfather, Manuel Luna.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ronald Johns, of Hinesville; mother, Diane Allen, of Shawnee; brother, John Allen, of Shawnee; sister and brother-in-law Christina and Isaiah Terneus, of Shawnee; grandmother, Edelma Luna, of Los Angeles; aunt, Lydia Luna, of Los Angeles; and nephews: Nate, Aden, Eli and Jaxon Terneus, of Shawnee.
The family has designated contributions be made to Faith 7 Activity Center, 301 S. Kennedy Ave., Shawnee.
A memorial prayer service will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, at St. Benedicts Catholic Church; 632 N. Kickapoo; Shawnee. This will be a time to share memories of Jenny. Following the service, the family will gather for a reception to meet with family and friends.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.
