State Rep. Mike Ritze has sent a letter to the corporate headquarters of Wal-Mart and Academy in response to questions he received from constituents about a shortage of ammo in Tulsa-area branches of the two retailers.

“Constituents have questions for me about why these stores are unable to keep ammo in stock and I am seeking clarification on the issue so I can answer their questions,” said Ritze, R-Broken Arrow.

The questions that constituents want answers to are if other stores in Oklahoma or nationally are having shortages, if all brands of ammo are equally hard to acquire, are manufacturers saying when the shortage will subside, and are manufacturers building their production capacity?
