Ardmore police are searching for two local men believed to have been involved in a midnight shooting triggered by a drug deal/robbery.

Sgt. Ryan Hunnicutt, Ardmore Police Department public information officer, said the public is being asked to provide information concerning the whereabouts of Darin Lee, 24, and Everett Lofton Jr., 27. The two men are named as suspects in the Tuesday night Anderson Street shooting that left the victim hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the arm and another to the chest.

Hunnicutt said the victim said he went to the residence to buy marijuana. But instead of completing the illegal drug transaction, the victim said one of the two men pulled a gun and demanded money. He said both men stole stereo equipment from his car, and he was shot while trying to escape.

APD reports indicate officers were called to the local hospital after the victim sought medical attention at the emergency room.

Wednesday afternoon Hunnicutt said the victim remained hospitalized in what was described as stable condition.

Investigators said late Wednesday efforts to find Lee and Lofton had been unsuccessful. Detective Billy Turner is assigned as the lead investigation on the case.

Lee, who is also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with first-degree burglary, has a criminal history that includes multiple drug convictions as well as a conviction for knowingly concealing stolen property.

Lofton's criminal history also indicates prior drug convictions in both 2008 and 2010.

Anyone with information concerning one or both men are urged to contact police headquarters at (580) 223-1212.
