Brenda Carolyn Sharp, daughter of the late Arthur Deward "Rip" Sharp and Dorothy Lee Blalock Sharp, was born Oct. 25, 1950, at Ardmore. She died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, in a Tulsa hospital following a brief illness.
Brenda grew up and attended school at Springer, graduating from high school in the class of 1969. She then enrolled at East Central University, graduating with degrees in psychology and sociology. She had retired from Michelin, where she was a tire builder and finisher, after 30 years service with the company.
Brenda was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Springer and enjoyed her church family. In her leisure time, Brenda enjoyed music, especially the Blues, spending time with her family, other friends and especially her dogs, that she loved dearly.
She is survived by her brother, Roger Sharp and his wife, Brenda Sue, of Ardmore; her nieces, Michelle Lampkin, Lindsey Lampkin, Callen Lampkin; her niece, Jessica Edwards and her children, Wesley Smith, Kaden Wilson; four special friends; Twila, Margaret, Debbie and Michelle.
Her parents; a brother, Steven Sharp; and her grandmother, Myrtle Blalock preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Springer, conducted by the Rev. Ron Elmore. Bearers are Larry Means, Ted Gilbert, Don Black, Steve Reed, Jimmy Lathum and Chris Cox.
Burial will be in the Springer Cemetery.
