Funeral services for Nelda Kay Grant are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Colvert Ministry Center at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tony Caro officiating. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery. The family will hold a visitation today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Craddock Funeral Home.
Nelda Kay Grant was born May 5, 1947, in Ringling, to Sherman Hailey and Eula Mae Huff Grant. She passed this life to go home on Sept. 19, 2013, in Ardmore at the age of 66 years. Nelda fought a long hard battle with cancer. God called her home and now she can rest in peace forever more.
Nelda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore. She loved her church and they loved her back in so many ways.
After graduating from Ringling High School, she lived in Dallas for several years before moving to Ardmore where she resided until her death. Nelda was employed by SODA, Arco and the Quintin Little Company. She was also a member of the Desk and Derrick club.
Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Glenda.
She is survived by three daughters, Ashley and Simone Grant of Ardmore, Penny Kinchloe of Dallas; son, Nick of Vinita, Okla.; two sisters, Marie Dewbre of Tishomingo and Lana Ball of Fritch, Texas; brothers, Harvey and wife, Retha of Ringling, Sherman (Cotton) Grant and wife, Jacqueline of Ringling, Haskell and wife, JoAnn of Lone Grove, and Darrell and wife, Linda of Lone Grove; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Jackson, Todd Collett, Chris Grant, Greg Grant, Alex Vinson and Bob Maize. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Hare and the Friend's Sunday School Class, Mike Waller, Dr. Joe Hamill and Cross Timbers Hospice.
Memorials may be left to the Youth Center of the First United Methodist Church, 501 W. Main, Ardmore, or Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street NW, Ardmore.
