Graveside services for Loyd Ratliff Brown, 77, of Graham are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Graham Cemetery with Bill Renfro and John Clinesmith officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Loyd was born March 4, 1936, at Dougherty, Okla., to Jesse James Brown and Juanita (Blain) Brown. He passed from this life Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Loyd was raised in Dougherty and Elmore City where he attended school. He later moved to Pruitt City, Clemscott and the Graham area. Loyd married the former Bonnell Boles on April 23, 1952, at Wilson. She preceded him in death Feb. 2, 2010. He worked as a pulling unit operator for mostly Nub Sullivan, Sammy Creel and Eddie Johnson, retiring in 1990. Loyd liked to work on cars and enjoyed attending the Wilson Senior Citizen's and loved to visit. He was a member of the East Lincoln Street Church of Christ in Healdton.
In addition to his wife, Bonnell (Boles) Brown, he is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Loyd Brown, Aug. 20, 1980; and brother, Nolan Brown.
Survivors include his brother, Glen D. Brown and wife, Holly of Fox; special friend, Nonie Nipper and her family; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and church family.
Pallbearers are Jack Brown, James Brown, Raymond Doughty, Jamie Griffin, Steve Melton and Bill Pheasent.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson from 6-8 p.m.
