Funeral services for Uell Darrell "Whitie" Patton will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, 2 p.m., at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at the Lone Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Whitie was born to Uell Dean and Dorothy Maebell (Carlton) Patton on Sept. 13, 1946 in Matador, Texas. He passed from this life on Sept. 19, 2013, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Whitie married the love of his life, Carol Ann VanBuskirk on Nov. 15, 1963 in Denton, Texas.

He has lived in Lone Grove the past 40 years and had lived most of his life in the Ardmore and Lone Grove area. He had worked as an auto mechanic, and then worked at Stromberg-Carlson in the maintenance department, before working in the oil field as a driller before his retirement. He loved to hunt, especially deer, fish, travel, and tinker in his shop, where he worked on cars. He loved old muscle cars. Whitie always enjoyed the time he had to spend with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherry Patton; a brother, Tommy Carlton; and two sisters, Regina Branson and May Dean Patton.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Patton of the home; sons, Darrell Wayne Patton and wife Minnie of Lone Grove, Darren Patton of Fort Worth, Texas, Wesley Patton and wife Ashley of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Tamra Patton and husband Tony Ueligger of Lone Grove, Mary Mote and husband Chris of Dickson, Daniel Patton of Lone Grove, Ricky Baker and wife Kristin of Yelm, Wash., Emily Sallee of Lone Grove; great grandchildren, Destiny Patton, McKenzie Patton and Hunter Ueligger, all of Lone Grove; brothers, Blackie Patton and wife Sue of Ardmore and Johnny Patton and wife Sandy of Milburn, Okla.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Casket bearers will be Daniel Patton, Ricky Baker, Chris Mote, Tony Ueligger, Keith Raney and Shane Patton
