  • Funeral services for Scott Lawson, 39, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Trinity Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy May officiating. Interment will follow at Legate Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for the family and friends will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
    The son of Carroll Lynn Lawson, and Karen LaDale Lasiter Pletcher, Scott was born July 17, 1974, in Ardmore and he and his mother lost their lives September 21, 2013, in a motorcycle/auto accident near Mannsville.
    A resident of this area all his life, Scott attended Marietta Schools, and was working for Best Buy in the maintenance department as a mechanic at the time of his death.
    Scott and the former Christi Ann Comer were married September 25, 1992, in Ardmore. An avid deer hunter, Scott enjoyed riding his Harley, and racing cars. He was known as #81 Scotty Bobby at the track. He enjoyed going boating and spending time with his family. He also was a craftsman, working with wood.
    Survivors include his wife, Christi of the home; two daughters, Kayla Cooper of Dalzell, South Carolina, and Kerha Lawson of Ardmore; his father, Carroll Lawson of Ardmore; his sister, Sharla McMillin and her husband, Brock of Burneyville; a brother, Dillon Lawson and his wife, Nicolina of Anchorage, Alaska; nephews, Layne Kinsey and Bronson McMillin of Burneyville; a niece, Scarlett Lawson of Anchorage, Alaska; aunts, Lonna Shorter and her husband, Kenneth of Lone Grove, Marla Gore of Ardmore, Tonya Rangel and husband, Josh of Ardmore; his uncles, Lonnie Lawson and wife, Kathy, of Ardmore, Freddy Lawson and wife, Melinda of Marietta, and Billy "Tony" Lawson of Springer; cousins, Billy, Brad, Amy, Nick, Adam, Casey, Joe, Matt, Holly, Christy, Dustin and Amy; grandmother, Janet Shockley of Ardmore; grandfather, Lonnie Lawson Sr. of Wilson, and Charles 'Pa' Shockley.
    Pallbearers will be George Davenport, Casey Lawson, Adam Lawson, Paul Hartman, Gary Cothran and Travis Rayburn.
