Funeral services for Vivian S. Wilson Preston, 95, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Buchanan of the Baum Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will follow at Rollins Cemetery.
She was born on November 10, 1917, in Berwyn, Oklahoma, to the late A.F. "Cap" Wilson and Susie Victoria Barnes Wilson; Vivian passed away on September 29, 2013, in the Stephenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Stephenville, Texas.
She and Calvin Preston were married on August 1, 1936, in Ardmore, he preceded her in death in 1985; and a grandson, Jimmy W. Preston died in 2012.
An Ardmore resident most of her life, Vivian worked for 30 years as an office clerk for Montgomery Wards; after retiring, she worked as a volunteer at the Dickson Senior Citizens Center until moving to Texas in 2009. Vivian was a longtime member of the Baum Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her son, James "Sonny" Preston, Yukon; daughter, Janice Wood, Mingus, Texas; three grandchildren, Bobby Preston, Gary Wood and Stacey Wood; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and also her brothers, Kenneth Wilson and James Wilson, both of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lee Ray Wilson and Floyd Wilson of Portland, Oregon.
Serving as bearers will be Gerald Preston, Ronnie Preston, Carroll Preston, Brian Preston, Bobby Preston and Gerrren Preston.
