Funeral services for Linda Lou Love Sheldon, 60, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory with the Reverend Betty Hester officiating. Services will conclude in the chapel.

Linda was born September 6, 1953, at Ardmore, to the late Odis and Katherine Henson Love; she passed away on September 29, 2013, at her Ardmore residence.

An Ardmore resident all of her life, Linda was 14 years old when she knew in her heart that she wanted to help others. She trained under Sylvia Kraft to become a nurses aide. Mrs. Kraft thought of Linda as her own daughter. Linda worked in hospitals for four years and when she became 18 years old received her first paying job as a nurses aide in a nursing home. Linda worked as a nurses aide in Ardmore nursing homes for 34 years, until her failing health forced her to retire.

At the age of 17, Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. A member of the Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church of God, Linda sang in the choir, loved gospel music and had compassion for the lost souls. She loved going to church, hearing God's word and playing the piano. All of her brothers and sisters in Christ had a special place in her heart. Linda liked people and never met a stranger.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Odis Love and Katherine Henson Love; her twin son, Jessie Ray Sheldon; sisters, Dianna Love and Shelly Dummer; her papa, Melvin Henson; her granny, Amey Henson; aunts, Wanda Matthews, Joyce Austin, Barbara Henson, infant aunt, Juanita Henson and Diana Lynn Henson; and an uncle, Buddy Henson.

Survivors include her twin son, Wesley Sheldon of Newcastle, Pennsylvania; brothers, Odis Ray Love and his wife, Donna, Melvin Love and his wife, Deborah, Arnold Wayne Love, Bobbie Dean Love and his wife, Francis and Jimmy Love and his wife, Sue; sister, Donna Sue Jo Love Harvey; and a very special friend, Susan Barnard, whom she called a sister.

A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home; condolences may be sent online at
