Today marks the beginning of Wilson's annual Fall Festival. It also happens to be the beginning of the town's Centennial Celebration.

The following is the schedule for this weekend's activities.


7 p.m. — Gospel singing and BBQ at the Wilson Assembly of God Church (Call Jim McGaughy at (580) 669-1150)

7:30 p.m. — WHS football game against Velma-Alma


6-9 a.m. — Pancake breakfast at the school cafeteria, sponsored by the Wilson girls' basketball teams

7 a.m. — Eagle Pride Cross Country 5K Run (starts at 7th Street and Main Street, $25 entry fee, first four finishers receive medals)

8 a.m. — Booth setup on Main Street

9 a.m.-noon — Blood drive at Chamber Building

9:15 a.m. — lineup for Fall Festival Parade at Old Gym property, one block north of Main Street (Contact Peggy Herrin at (580) 513-0473, Kim Kinard at (580) 221-3833 or Tildy Asbery at (580) 465-0198 with any questions)

10 a.m. — Parade starts on Main Street

11 a.m.-1 p.m. — Booths open, bounce houses open, Wilson Historical Society presenting slide show of 100 years of Wilson at the library

1 p.m. — Ugly dog contest

1:30 p.m. — Turtle race

2 p.m. — Limbo contest

2:30 p.m. — Hula hoop contest

3 p.m. — Bubble gum contest

3:30 p.m. — Stick horse races

4 p.m — Minute to Win It ($15 for a team of two, winnings to be split 50/50)

7 p.m. — Karaoke

8-11 p.m. — Street dance with DJ David Newby


After church — Taco salad bowl lunch, baked goods silent auction at the school cafeteria

1 p.m. — Fall Festival royalty crowned
