  • Survey: 50 percent believe the U.S. is in recession

  • More than 50 percent of the 1,500 likely American adults, who participated in a recent independent public opinion survey, said they believe the U.S. is in recession and 49 percent of investors agreed.
     
    The Rasmussen Consumer Index held steady on Thursday at 93.1, still up five points from a week ago, but down nine points from a month ago and four points from three months ago.
     
    The Rasmussen Investor Index dropped three points on Thursday to 104.6, up eight points from a week ago, but down 10 points from a month ago and eight points from three months ago.
     
    54 percent of adult consumers and 49 percent investors believe that U.S. is currently in a recession, but 30 percent of consumers and 36 percent investors disagree.
