A sentencing hearing has been set for Joshua Scott in the wake of his plea of no contest to three counts of first-degree murder.
Scott, 21, entered the blind no contest plea (no plea bargain) Wednesday in Marshall County District Court to three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Chad Wayne Page, Ashleigh Lindsey and her unborn child. The charges for first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony were dismissed. A pre-sentence investigation has been ordered and the sentencing will take place at 1 p.m. Dec. 11.
Page, a Lebanon resident was the ex-boyfriend of Scott's mother, and was shot by Scott in the side, neck and head with a .22 caliber revolver on July 12, 2012. Joshua Mahaffey shot Lindsey and then took his own life less than 24 hours after Page's death, using the same revolver. Lindsey died in a Plano, Texas, hospital on July 13 from injuries suffered from the gunshot wound.
Information provided to The Ardmoreite at the time of the murder indicated Scott took Page's vehicle after he shot him and drove to Texas to pick up Mahaffey, who was wanted on a warrant charging him with felony domestic abuse and battery.
The two men drove to a residence where Lindsey was staying, at which point Mahaffey shot Lindsey before turning the gun on himself.
Scott and three other people were at the residence at the time of the shooting. Scott allegedly threatened the three witnesses, saying the same thing would happen to them if they called 911, and proceeded to flee from the scene.
Scott was taken into custody later that day, and took authorities to the scene of Page's murder. He initially told authorities it was Mahaffey who killed Page, before confessing that it was he who was the trigger man.
