The Oklahoma City Thunder will welcome fans back to Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday for Opening Night, the first home game of the 2013-14 season.
The game will tip off at 6 p.m.; the team reminds fans to set their clocks back an hour on Saturday night for the end of Daylight Saving Time.
During the game, the team will wear a special patch on its jerseys to commemorate the strength of Oklahomans that was on display following the devastating May storms.
THUNDER ALLEY: Throughout November, fans can take part in the Thunder Alley pregame festivities, outside Chesapeake Arena on Reno Ave. For Sunday’s home opener, Thunder Alley will begin at 3 p.m. and will include inflatable games, sport court, Budweiser beer garden, Kia vehicle display, McDonald’s french fry truck, face painting, photo stations, a mobile Thunder Shop and more. Thunder Alley will close at tipoff.
TICKETS: Fans looking to get into the game can go to THUNDER.NBA.COM and click the NBATICKETS link on the Love’s Thunder Hub to browse available seats. Tickets purchased through the Thunder website – either directly from the team or from other fans – guarantee your access to Chesapeake Energy Arena for Thunder home games.
On game days, the Kia Thunder Rewards Zone offers fans a final opportunity to win one of 50 pairs of tickets throughout the season. In-person registration for the Kia Thunder Rewards Zone begins three hours prior to tipoff; fans can also preregister on game days online at THUNDER.NBA.COM.
TUNE IN: Sunday’s game will be televised throughout the region on FOX Sports Oklahoma, starting with the “Thunder Live” pregame show at 5:30 p.m. Thunder broadcasters Brian Davis, Grant Long and Lesley McCaslin will return to bring you all the Thunder Basketball action.
FOX Sports Oklahoma can be found on Oklahoma City Cox channels 37/722 HD, Tulsa Cox Channels 27/722 HD, DirecTV channel 679 and AT&T U-verse channel 754. Dish Network customers should check their local listings.
Matt Pinto will call every play on the Thunder Radio Network, led by WWLS-The Sports Animal on 98.1 FM in Oklahoma City.
AUCTION AND RAFFLE: The Thunder encourages fans attending Sunday’s game to stop by the Thunder Cares auction and raffle, located outside Section 120. Fans can bid on a variety of items, including framed and autographed jerseys that the team wore during the Blue and White Scrimmage in Moore earlier this month. Fans can also purchase $5 tickets for a chance to win a team-autographed ball. A portion of the proceeds from both the auction and the raffle will benefit the Moore Helmets for Schools initiative.
IN-GAME ENTERTAINMENT: Reigning Miss Oklahoma Kelsey Griswold, who was named second runner-up in this year’s Miss America competition, will perform the national anthem before the game. The Olate Dogs, winners of “America’s Got Talent” in 2012, will provide halftime entertainment.
