  • Clara Faye Nell Hibbs, 95, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at her home in Odessa, Texas. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Pastor Cody Westbrook officiating. Services under the direction of Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore.
    Faye Nell was born Jan. 10, 1918, to Robert Earl Taylor and Eva Ardella (Calhoun) Taylor. She was a graduate of Ardmore High School, and after graduation, she moved to California, where she met the love of her life, William Benjamin Hibbs. She married Bill at Las Vegas, Nev., in 1940. After WWII, she and Bill moved back to Ardmore, where they opened a dairy in 1948. Faye Nell received her associate degree from Odessa College in 1960. She returned home to Ardmore and began working for the Seventh Day Adventist from 1962 until her retirement in 1984. She moved to Odessa in 1977. She loved world traveling, where she had visited six of the seven continents. Faye Nell loved caring for people, and her faith, which kept her going.
    She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Aubrey Edward Taylor and wife, Anna, Oran Taylor and wife, Maribel, and Bob Taylor and wife, Thelma; two sisters, Opal LaVera Smith and husband, William Melvin, and Oleta Belle Phillips and husband, P.G. "Mutt" Phillips.
    Faye is survived by her daughter, Leta Edge and husband, Scott, of the home; grandson Wyatt Edge of New Braunfels, Texas; and great-grandchildren Jake and Kali Edge.
    Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Edge, Wyatt Edge, Jake Edge, George Haynes, Paul Phillips and Steven Taylor.
