  • A recent survey of 1,000 American adults shows 44 percent are less likely to shop at stores open on Thanksgiving.

Just 8 percent say they are more likely to shop at a store that opens on Thanksgiving Day to get a jump on Black Friday deals, while 44 percent say they are less likely to shop at a store that opens on the holiday and 44 percent say it will have no impact on their shopping plans.

32 percent are at least somewhat likely to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving, the shopping day known as Black Friday, while 66 percent are not likely to brave the stores that day, including 12 percent who are Very Likely to do some Black Friday shopping and 32 percent who are Not At All Likely to do so.

Last year, just 15 percent said they planned on doing any shopping on the day after Thanksgiving.
