Graveside services for Eugene Loyd Morter, 84, of Ardmore, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating. Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.

Eugene was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Ardmore, to the late Luther Clark and Ethel (Butts) Morter. He died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at the Ardmore Veterans Center.

Eugene graduated from Ardmore High School and had attended the University of Oklahoma. He later served in the United States Navy. Eugene was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore and had worked as a radio announcer and telemarketer.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, Kathy Barrett and husband, Terry and Clark Morter, all of Norman, Virginia Gilbreath and husband, Jim of Lake City, Fla., and Jackie Greaser of Laramie, Wyo.

His parents and two brothers, W.L. "Jack" and Howard Morter, preceded him in death.
