Services for Eugene T. Bolles, 83, were Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Milo Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment was at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.

The son of the late Ernest Dudley and Violet Thomas Bolles, Gene was born Aug. 31, 1930, at Rexroat, and passed away Dec. 6, 2013, in Ardmore.

A graduate of Rexroat in 1949, Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He married the former Georgia Roberts on May 10, 1955, in Wilson.

He retired from Hales Oil Interests, having worked as a superintendent in the field. He was a member of the Milo Baptist Church, where he was known as the candy man, and was also known as the bicycle man, and enjoyed going fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia of the home; son Michael Bolles and his wife, Judy of Stonewall, Okla.; daughters Patti Runge of Ardmore, and Kelly Shaw and her husband, David of Joaquin, Texas; brothers Terrell of Ardmore and Donald of Davis; grandchildren Casey Green and husband, Patrick, Nicholas Runge and wife, Candace, Joshua Runge, Scott Heath and wife, Nicole, Jessica Gee and husband, Trevor, and Leslie Willis and husband, Daniel; and great-grandchildren Haylee Green, Clio Heath, Ian Heath, Varon Heath and Kie and Leah Willis.

He was preceded in death by grandson Alan Shaw; brothers Ernest, Corky, Billy Wayne, Pete and Jerry; and sisters Marjorie Carlock, Myrtle Worsham and Armentha Waldron.

Serving as bearers were Joe and Larry Gunter, Kenny Shores, George Shaw, Trent Traylor and Jackie Hartman. Honorary bearers are the men of the church.
